Creativity:

We have an alley around our building. In this alley, a zebra print fancy chair was abandoned. In this alley we also have this super cool corner covered in ivy where fences and a building meet. Someone decided to place this fancy chair in this super cool corner. Every time I walked or drove by it, I knew I needed to take photos there. I asked my 7 year old daughter if she would join me in taking photos – both as subject and photographer – and she enthusiastically agreed. Next step was to wait for some dry weather (who wants to sit on a soggy chair?!?). We found it during our long weekend just this past week and the results were amazing!!!

Corporate:

Our latest opportunity has been around multiple train PI Planning. We currently have 2 trains – 1 that delivers to a new site and 1 that is for Continuous Operations. Both are dependent on each other with work often interlocking. So why not plan together!?!? Off we go………..

• We’ve been thinking about:
  • Inspect & Adapt template – how do we make it meaningful to our client and other teams? We need to think about objectives, retrospectives, and metrics. Not only that but what are the impacts and what will we change to do better?
  • Agenda – what do we talk about and when?
  • Preparation – especially around process reminders and expectations

Learning:

Still working on Atomic Habits. Most interesting items this week were:

• The 2 minute rule – aim for a small amount of time to build the habit and then grow from there.
• Gateway habits to support the 2 minute rule – what is the easiest thing I can do to start my habit?
• Habit shaping – break down your habits into Phases of easy-to-implement habits. Grow into them.
